Databases
The Library & Information Centre provides access to bibliographic and full-text databases. Bibliographic databases enable search and retrieval of citations and abstracts only, while full-text databases enable access to the full-text of serials' articles.
 

Below follows an alhabetic list of the eContent Providers, whose services are retained either directly from the University of Thessaly Library or via its participation in the HEAL-LINK Consortium. Some free-access databases are also included in the following list. Related Services:

Academic Search Complete Full-text database: Academic Search Complete is the world's most valuable and comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 7,000 full-text periodicals, including nearly 6,000 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 11,000 journals and a total of more than 11,600 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. EBSCO host Open in new window (icon)  EBSCOhost is a powerful online reference system accessible via the Internet. It offers a variety of full text databases, such as Academic Search Premier and PsycINFO, and popular databases from leading information providers. EconLit Abstracts Bibliographic database: EconLit, the American Economic Association's electronic database, is the world's foremost source of references to economic literature. The database contains more than 1,010,900 records from 1969-present. EconLit covers virtually every area related to economics.

GreenFILE Bibliographic database: GreenFILE offers well-researched information covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Its collection of scholarly, government and general-interest titles includes content on global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records.

JSTOR Open in new window (icon)  Archival full-text database: JSTOR offers a high-quality, interdisciplinary archive to support scholarship and teaching. It includes archives of over one thousand leading academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as select monographs and other materials valuable for academic work. The entire corpus is full-text searchable, offers search term highlighting, includes high-quality images, and is interlinked by millions of citations and references.

 LISTA)
Bibliographic database: Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA) indexes more than 500 core journals, more than 50 priority journals, and 125 selective journals; plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.

MedLine Open in new window (icon)  Bibliographic database: The PubMed database comprises more than 19 million citations for biomedical articles from MEDLINE and life science journals. Citations may include links to full-text articles from PubMed Central or publisher web sites.

PsycINFO Bibliographic database: The PsycINFO , database, American Psychological Association's (APA) renowned resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, is the largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health. It contains over 2.5 million citations and summaries dating as far back as the early 1800s. Journal coverage, which spans from 1887 to present, includes international material selected from more than 2,400 periodicals in more than 27 languages.

Scopus Open in new window (icon)  Bibliographic database: Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of research literature and quality web sources. Provides direct access to web sources, and full-text available through HEAL-Link subscription deals.

SPORTDiscus with Full Text Full-text database: SPORTDiscus with Full Text is the world's most comprehensive source of full text for sports & sports medicine journals, providing full text for more than 490 journals indexed in SPORTDiscus. This authoritative file contains full text for many of the most used journals in the SPORTDiscus index - with no embargo. With full-text coverage dating back to 1985, SPORTDiscus with Full Text is the definitive research tool for all areas of sports & sports medicine literature.
